HOUSE to house inquiries have been conducted by police after a 10-year-old reported seeing a young girl in a car with men sporting hooded tops.

Suffolk police is appealing for information about the sighting in Glastonbury Road, Bury St Edmunds at about 4.10pm on Monday.

The force said the small purple car was seen in “suspicious circumstances” and that the 10-year-old girl who saw the child with the men had concerns for her safety.

The two men in the car both had hooded tops and the car had a tree air freshener in the window.

Police have searched the area and called on residents but so far the vehicle has not been traced.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Det Insp John Brocklebank at Bury police on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
