SEVENTEEN people in NHS Suffolk's area have now been confirmed to have contracted swine flu.

NHS Suffolk confirmed the figures today, a rise from the 11 cases it had recorded at the end of last week.

The news comes as it emerged that a nine-year-old has become the third person in the UK to die of swine flu.
