Earth Hour 2016, created and organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), takes place at 8.30pm, the 10th time the event has been run.

The collective action of hundreds of thousands of properties being plunged into darkness is designed to show a commitment to climate action.

As well as the simple act of turning lights off, as seen across cities around the world and including national landmarks, supporters will also organise events in the darkness.

For example there will a chance to explore Rendlesham Forest in the dark as part of Earth Hour, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

You can book or find out more by visiting the Forestry Commission website http://www.forestry.gov.uk/rendlesham
