Investigations are still ongoing after five people were arrested following the discovery of a cannabis farm with up to 1,000 plants near Debenham.

Officers from Suffolk police's east Kestrel team attended an address in Webbs Road in Kenton, near Debenham, on December 30.

After entering the property, they discovered three rooms containing up to 1,000 cannabis plants.

A 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion on cultivation of cannabis, suspicion of abstracting electricity and suspicion of possession of a bladed weapon.

A 24-year-old, two 30-year-olds and a 51-year-old were all arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

All five suspects were taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning before being released on bail to answer on March 31.

Suffolk Constabulary has confirmed the case is still open and enquiries are ongoing.
