The trial of a 33-year-old Colchester man accused of using controlling or coercive behaviour towards a partner won't take place until April 2026 due to delays in the criminal justice system.
Before Ipswich Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Tuesday was Rhys Higgs of St Bride Court, Colchester.
He pleaded not guilty to two offences of using controlling or coercive behaviour between December 1, 2020 and May 30, 2023.
He also denied damaging a pair of sunglasses belonging to the alleged victim.
His trial, which is expected to last three to four days, will take place during a two-week warned list, commencing April 20 2026.
Higgs is on conditional bail.
