A man from west Suffolk has been ordered to pay out more than £1,000 after failing to identify a driver suspected of committing an offence.
Michael Hammond, of Lester Piggott Way in Newmarket, was asked for information on June 4 this year relating to the driver of a Peugeot.
However, Hammond did not give police officers the information, a court listing said.
The incident happened in Nettleham, which is near Lincoln in Lincolnshire.
Charges were brought against 44-year-old Hammond by Lincolnshire Police, and he was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of a vehicle when required in a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates' Court.
For this he was given six points on his driving record, fined £660, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and ordered to pay costs of £110.
This means he was told to pay out a total of £1,034.
Karthik appeared at Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court last month.
