A 32-year-old west Suffolk man who was caught behind the wheel of a car while more than twice the legal limit for alcohol has been handed a driving ban.
Pawel Porada, of Old Station Road in Newmarket, was charged with drink driving following an incident on the A11 at Six Mile Bottom, in Cambridgeshire, on February 3 last year.
A court listing said Porada was recorded with 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - with the legal limit being just 35.
Porada was driving a Renault Master van at the time.
He pleaded guilty to the offence.
Porada was handed a 22-month driving ban, which the defendant has the option to reduce by 22 weeks upon the successful completion of a driving safety course.
He was also handed a £200 fine and told to pay £105 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and an £80 surcharge.
Porada's guilty plea to the charge was taken into account when magistrates decided on his sentence.
