Police have made an arrest after they received reports of girls being approached and followed by a man.
Essex Police were told that a man had followed a victim in the Monwick area of Colchester at about 10pm on Friday, September 6.
On Saturday, September 7, police received another report of a girl being followed in Queen Elizabeth Way and Prince Philip Road before a man left in an unknown direction.
Officers have since arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of common assault.
District Commander Colin Cox said of the incidents: “We fully understand how intimidating these experiences were for the victims, and our officers have been working hard to identify and locate whoever may be responsible.
“This has been possible thanks to the members of the public who have come forward to help us, our partners in Colchester City Council, and the diligence and response of my officers."
Anyone with any information related to the incident is being asked to contact Essex Police, quoting the crime reference number 1430 of September 6.
