A man from Sudbury has been disqualified from driving for 17 months after failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Christopher Dukes, 42, of Clermont Avenue in Sudbury, failed to provide the specimen without reasonable excuse at Bridgewater in Somerset.
He pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on March 16 last year, when he appeared before Taunton Magistrates’ Court, also in Somerset.
Dukes was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within 12 months and was disqualified from driving for 17 months.
He is able to reduce the disqualification period by 129 days upon the successful completion of a course.
The defendant was also ordered to pay costs of £130 to the Crown Prosecution Service and told to pay a surcharge of £114.
His guilty plea was taken into account when he was sentenced by magistrates.
