Suffolk Libraries marked World Menopause Day by highlighting the support available through the Menopause & Me project.
World Menopause Day, organised by The International Menopause Society, fell on Friday, October 18.
Its mission is to raise awareness, dismantle stigma, and promote the support available for those experiencing menopause or perimenopause.
The Menopause & Me project, delivered by Suffolk Libraries and Suffolk Mind, and funded by the Department of Health & Social Care, offers a range of support for those going through menopause and perimenopause, including support for employers.
This includes M-Powered support groups at various libraries, with new sessions soon to be introduced at Hadleigh and Glemsford.

Suffolk Libraries also created a film highlighting the benefits of attending these sessions.
Jane Cox, Suffolk Libraries community mental health and wellbeing manager, said: “The menopause is still something many people don’t want to talk about and many don’t know about the range of support available.
"World Menopause Day was a perfect opportunity to talk about the issue and remind people that there are many ways to get help. "
Suffolk Libraries has a large resource of information and links for those going through menopause, including a series of blogs written by those with lived experience of the menopause.

The Menopause & Me project provides help for employers and their staff, as one in 10 women who have been employed during menopause have left work due to menopause symptoms.
Corrina Hanley, community services manager at Suffolk Mind, said: "It is important to remember the menopause is something that affects us all – from the people directly experiencing it to their families, friends and colleagues. "
The project offers access to free employer training from Suffolk Mind and encourages employers to sign up to a Menopause pledge.
