EDUCATION chiefs and civic leaders celebrated today after a topping out ceremony at the £70million Suffolk New College building.
Mayor of Ipswich David Hale turned the final bolt in the structure in Rope Walk, Ipswich.
Suffolk College principal Dave Muller said: “Today we are celebrating the completion of the steelwork on time. This is a significant step in the progress of the new building which is due to open in September 2009.”
The building will house lecture rooms and workshops and is expected to be used by 3,500 further education students.
