MORE than 80 tonnes of straw is being allowed to burn under the supervision of firefighters.
Crews were called to West Street, Rickinghall shortly after 7pm tonight after receiving reports of a large quantity of bailed straw on fire.
The blaze, which is believed to be on the grounds of Sunnyside Farm and on a sugar beet pad, spread to more than ten tonnes of wet and broken bails.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said that crews were allowing the fire to burn under supervision due to the height of the stack.
Police have been made aware of the incident as it is believed to be of a suspicious nature.
