The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of wind for the East of England for Wednesday.
The worst of the winds will begin late Tuesday night, January 2, and carry on into the early hours of Wednesday morning, January 3.
According to Chris Bell, a forecaster for Weatherquest, the strongest gusts of wind will be felt early in the morning at around 7-8am - while drivers make their way into work.
Mr Bell said: “It will be windy but it is nothing unusual for winter. It is nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.”
He added: “On Wednesday we are looking at temperatures of between nine and 10C (48.2-50F) which is above average for this time of year.”
A spokesperson for Highways England said there are currently no plans to close Ipswich’s Orwell Bridge.
Inland winds will reach a speed of 50mph during the morning, and in coastal areas such as Felixstowe the wind speed will reach as high as 55-60mph.
Overall, Wednesday will be a windy day however it is forecast to be a bright afternoon.
