An air ambulance landed on the A11 at Elveden this afternoon to help a woman who was involved in a car crash.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway at 4pm to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a blue Peugeot.

Highways engineers had been called because around 20 posts had been damaged in the central reservation.

An ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 4.01pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A11 at Elveden to which we sent an ambulance officer and East Anglian Air Ambulance too.

“A female believed to be in her 50s, was treated for very minor injuries and was discharged at the scene.”

The road has now reopened.
