Two people had to be cut free from their crashed car this afternoon after an accident on the A11.
Suffolk police said the accident happened at 1pm on the northbound carriageway between Red Lodge and Barton Mills when two cars collided, closing the road for a time.
Firefighters were called to cut two elderly occupants of one vehicle free from their car.
Two appliances from Newmarket and one from Mildenhall attended. The trapped couple had been relesased by 2.10pm.
The woman passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle and their two passengers were badly shaken with minor injuries.
