A motorcyclist was taken to hospital but escaped serious injury after colliding with the central reservation of the A12 at Brentwood.
Paramedics were called to the scene following several emergency calls at about 7.45pm last night.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered leg and pelvis pain but was otherwise unhurt.
He was given morphine at the scene and taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford, for further treatment.
