POLICE have today named the man who died after his car collided with a tree on the A12 at Capel St Mary on Sunday November 18.

He has been named as 49-year-old Charles Lamont from Dundee.

Mr Lamont’s body was found after police were contacted around 4.10pm on Sunday to reports of a car on its roof in a field just after the BP garage. The scene was attended and a silver BMW was located on its roof, off the south-bound carriageway.

Following the initial investigation officers now believe that the collision may have taken place some time between 6.30am and 9am on Sunday morning and police are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle leave the road to get in contact.
