A female motorcyclist has suffered serious leg injuries in a crash on the A12 at Saxmundham this evening.

Police were called today, Thursday, December 5, at around 6.30pm to reports of a crash involving a 125cc motorcycle and a Honda car.

According to a spokesman for Suffolk police, the northbound carriageway is running but the southbound carriageway has been completely closed since the collision while emergency services work at the scene.

Traffic is currently being diverted through Saxmundham.

He said: "A female rider, who is 20 years old, has suffered serious injuries to her leg. "She has been conveyed by ambulance to hospital."
