TRAFFIC is building up on the A12 throughout Essex as heavy snow causes havoc for motorists.
Drivers are experiencing long delays as cars struggle to deal with the treacherous road conditions.
Police have confirmed there are no specific incidents reported along the busy stretch of road, and have put the delays down to cars going slowly in the difficult conditions.
A spokesman for Essex Police warned drivers against taking any risks in the difficult weather conditions.
“Unless your journey is urgent and essential, stay off the roads,” he said.
“If you do need to go out, make sure you have got sufficient food and water with you, warm blankets and enough petrol to see you through.”
