Suffolk Fire Service and the police attended the incident - on the northbound Copdock/Washbrook slip-road close to Capel St Mary - just before 9.30pm tonight.
The cab of the 40ft articulated lorry was on fire but no one is thought to have been hurt.
Two crews from Ipswich attended and used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames by 10.10pm.
