A MAN suffered arm injuries after a serious accident on the A12.

Police were called to the collision at about 10.40pm on Tuesday to the road northbound near East Bergholt.

A Vauxhall Corsa had come off the road and landed on its side with smoke seen coming from the vehicle.

It is believed a man in his 30s was in the car. He was treated by paramedics and Dr Jeremy Mauger from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service, and a volunteer doctor from Basics Essex Accident Rescue Service, before being taken to Ipswich Hospital.

Police closed the road and set up diversions while fire and ambulance crews worked at the scene. Part of the central reservations was also damaged in the incident.
