Preparatory work to install new street lighting and improve safety on 1.3 miles of the A12 Stanway Bypass between Eight Ash Green interchange (J26) and the Spring Lane interchange (J27), starts on Monday 30 January. From Monday there will be overnight single lane closures on both carriageways of the A12.
From Monday 6 February work will be carried out 24-hours a day, Monday to Saturday, with two narrow lanes remaining open in both directions during the day. A 24-hour 40mph speed limit enforced with safety cameras will be in place for the safety of drivers and roadworkers.
There will be single lane closures in place overnight, when traffic flows are lower, with occasional slip road closures on the Spring Lane interchange. There will also be occasional full overnight carriageway closures during the scheme, but only in one direction at a time. During any closures, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and drive safely through the roadworks.
