An MP has called for enforcement on the A120 as nearly 400 motorists a day were recorded breaking the limit.
Witham MP Priti Patel said April’s survey in the Surrex hamlet between Marks Tey and Coggeshall caught 2,336 drivers going over the 60mph limit in just six days, out of 138,820 vehicles on the road.
Ms Patel said: “The A120 is one of the most dangerous stretches of single carriageway in the country. More needs to be done to make this road safer and I urge the police to take action.”
