The A14 was closed for nearly two hours today following a collision and fire on the eastbound carriageway.
Suffolk police was called to the incident, on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 between junction 51 and 52, at 12.18pm. The collision involved two cars. Fire crews also extinguished a Subaru, which was alight in an unrelated incident.
Two crews from Princes Street, one from Ipswich East, one from Debenham, one from Needham Market and one from Stowmarket attended the incidents.
Both carriageways were shut while the fire was extinguished, but the westbound carriageway reopened shortly after the blaze was extinguished, at around 1pm.
There was a diversion in place for motorists using the eastbound carriageway until it reopened at 2.15pm.
An East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust spokesman said one man, in his 40s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment to a head injury. His injury is not thought to be serious.
