A hold-up on the A14 eastbound carriageway between Junction 55 at the Copdock Interchange and Junction 56 at the Wherstead Road turn-off has now been cleared.
Police report there were traffic jams after the back lights of a lorry fell off and a car travelling behind drove over them and got a puncture.
Both vehicles pulled over blocking part of the road at around 6.40am but by 7.30 police reported the situation had cleared and traffic was again moving freely.
