Fire crews pulled a motorist out of a car after it crashed in to a barrier on the A14 overnight.

Two fire engines, police and ambulance crews were called to the dual carriageway between Thurston and Rougham at around 1.20am.

A green Mercedes Benz hit a barrier in a single-vehicle incident, a Suffolk Police spokesman said.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said one person was released from the car.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “All parties were assessed at the scene and no-one needed hospital treatment.”
