Emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the A14 earlier today.

Police were notified of a collision between a white Iveco van and a black Peugeot 307 at 4.18pm, at Seven Hills, where the A14 meets the northbound A12.

Police had closed the first lane within 10 minutes, and the ambulance service was called, along with the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, as an occupant of the Peugeot complained of back pain.

Three appliances were sent by the fire service, one from Ipswich East, and one pump and one rescue vehicle from Princes Street.

The road was fully closed while the fire service used specialist cutting equipment to release someone from the Peugeot who was left in the care of the Ambulance service.

All crews were back at base by 6.42pm, and the road reopened at around 8pm.
