A popular information event is returning to a Bury St Edmunds care home to provide advice on preventing falls among elderly people.

On Wednesday, July 4, from 10.30am-12.30pm, Davers Court care home, on Shakers Lane, will welcome experts to give advice to the community at a free talk.

Ann Hunt and Lesley Pilbrow from West Suffolk Community Services will be visiting the home to offer guidance and information on preventing falls and maintaining independence.

After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Davers Court and take a tour of the care home if they wish.

Wendy Harvey, home manager, said: “Here at Davers Court, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work.

“Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents and older people, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues.

“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Davers Court for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
