Musical ambassadors for orphaned African children will return to Suffolk for a live tour later this month.
Pupils at three schools will welcome the Watoto Children’s Choir, who travel as advocates for youngsters orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war and poverty.
The Ugandan choir, which has visited the region in previous years, will this time be the guests of Wickham Market Primary on January 27, Leiston Primary on January 28 and Stradbroke High School on January 29, meeting and performing for pupils before a free concert, open to the public at 7pm.
The children, aged seven to 12, who have lost one or both parents, will also perform at Laxfield Baptist Church from 7.30pm on January 26.
The choir is part of a larger scheme set up by the Watoto Church in 1994, in response to the number of orphaned and vulnerable children and women in Uganda.
