A woman is in hospital with suspected serious injuries after a collision at a petrol station in Haverhill.

Emergency services were called to the BP garage in Sturmer Road at around 12.10pm after a car and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on the forecourt, according to police.

The East of England Ambulance Service Trust and an air ambulance were called to treat the pedestrian for what is believed to be a serious but not life threatening injury.

The pedestrian – a woman – has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by land ambulance for further treatment. She was taken to the hospital at 1.15pm, police said.

BP and the East of England Ambulance Service Trust have been contacted for comment.

Police had left the scene by 3pm.

The force spokesman said the driver spoke to police at the scene.
