Police are trying to find the driver of a car which failed to stop at the scene of a collision in Aldeburgh.

A female pedestrian was left shaken and bruised after the crash in Alde Lane at around midday on Monday.

She was walking close to the junction with Victoria Road when she was struck by a silver Saab-type saloon that had mounted the pavement, possibly to avoid a collision with another vehicle.

The area would have been quite busy at the time and officers are asking the driver of the car, anyone with information about the vehicle involved, or anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

If you can help, call police on 101.
