Volunteer life-savers were called to rescue two people from a dinghy which was reported to have capsized in a Suffolk river.

Aldeburgh RNLI launched its inshore lifeboat Susan Scott to help the crew of the 12ft dinghy, which was in trouble in the River Alde near Barbers Point.

Following a request from UK Coastguard at 12.50pm, the RNLI launched and arrived to at the scene to find the crew had managed to right the dinghy. The RNLI helped by pumping out most of the water and towing the vessel back to Aldeburgh Yacht Club.

Once the dinghy was safely returned, the ILB team returned to the lifeboat station, arriving by 2.40pm.
