Year 3 pupils at Brandeston Hall enjoy Ancient Greece day

Year 3 pupils at Brandeston Hall got stuck into their studies last week when they enjoyed an Ancient Greek day.

The children had previously researched how to dress and made swords, wreaths and shields to add to their costumes.

On the day, they were greeted by Greek warrior Panaeolus, who told of Greek democracy and the differences between Athens and Sparta.

Activities included playing Greek game Petteia and learning about iconic characters such as Alexander the Great, Darius and the Persians, before taking part in their own mini Olympics.

Teacher Claire Cullum said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and we learnt some facts that will never be forgotten.”
