PRINT group Denny Bros has been named as the region’s Business of the Year at the EADT’s Anglian Business Awards.

The Bury St Edmunds-based company won both the Environment and the Family Business of the Year categories, and then beat off competition from eight other category winners to claim the night’s top honour.

Simon Gray of Denny Bros Supplies was also among the individual winners at the ceremony, being named Customer Service Person of the Year.

However, the top individual honour of the evening, the newly-introduced Business Personality of the Year award, went to Paul Winter, chief executive of Ipswich Building Society, who also won the Business Leader/Manager of the Year category.

Ipswich Building Society also claimed the award for Community Involvement but the remainder of the trophies at last night’s ceremony, held at Trinity Park, Ipswich, were widely spread.

Winners included AtlasFram (Medium/Large Business), Thompson & Morgan (Innovation), MGC Lighting (International Trade), Edme (Rural Business), Cubiqdesign (Small Business), Creative Intent (Start-up Business), Woodbridge Rugby Union Club (Not for Profit) and Dayle Bayliss of Dayle Bayliss Construction Consultant (Young Business Person of the Year.)

The awards were supported this year by joint main sponsors EDF Energy and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce. For full picture coverage of last night’s ceremony, don’t miss the eight-page awards special which will appear in next Tuesday’s BusinessEast supplement.
