An appeal for information has been launched after a 20ins concrete block was thrown on to a car in Jaywick.
The incident happened on Wednesday at about 4am.
The car, a silver Volkswagen Polo, was parked on a driveway in Lavender Walk when the incident happened.
It was left with a shattered windscreen.
Anyone with information is being asked to call Pc David Wren at Clacton Police Station on 101.
