Police are continuing to investigate a reported rape in Ipswich town centre.
Specially-trained officers were intending to speak to the victim – who is in her 20s - during the course of yesterday following the incident which occurred early on Sunday morning.
The walkway between Cromwell Square and Friars Street which runs alongside Willis was subsequently cordoned off for forensic purposes.
Suffolk Constabulary initially said the allegation involved a sexual assault, but yesterday confirmed it was now a rape inquiry.
Anyone with information which could help the investigating team should telephone 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
