A yellow weather warning has been issued to parts of the UK this weekend. See how the weather looks for this weekend in Suffolk and Essex here.

While parts in the north and west of England are set to experience winds of up to 50mph and heavy downpours, Saturday in East Anglia will start much drier and brighter.

Adam Dury, forecaster at Weatherquest, said: “Saturday morning is off to a fine start, but cloud increases in the afternoon so there could be a few showers.

“We are looking at temperatures of about 17-18 Celsius (62.6 - 64.4 Fahrenheit) throughout Saturday.

“Saturday will be dry throughout but will have winds of 25mph-30mph throughout the day.”

Low pressure is expected to throw rain towards the region on Saturday night. There will also be strong winds, but not high enough to merit a formal weather warning.

“It will be a cloudy morning and cloudy for most of the day,” he said.

“It will be slightly brighter in the afternoon but overall a damp cloudy day.

“In the morning there will be winds of 30-35mph. It will them progress to 40-45mph winds in the afternoon.

“Sunday will be damp, but there will be no great quantities of rain.”

Temperatures are set to reach almost 20 Celsius (68 Fahrenheit) on Sunday.

The poor forecast has led to some organised events being cancelled in Suffolk this weekend.

The Women on Wheels event which was meant to be taking place at Rendlesham on Saturday, September 30, has now been rearranged to next April.

An Ipswich cycling event Cycle Swarm, which was planned to take place in Christchurch Park on Sunday, has also been moved back a week.

It will now be taking place on Sunday, October 8.
