Armed robbers strike at two stores

POLICE are hunting armed robbers after two raids at stores in Suffolk tonight.The first incident happened at 7.20pm at Newmart, in Brickfields Avenue, Newmarket, when three men brandishing weapons - not thought to be guns - struck at the shop.

The first incident happened at 7.20pm at Newmart, in Brickfields Avenue, Newmarket, when three men brandishing weapons - not thought to be guns - struck at the shop. It is not yet clear exactly what was stolen.

Three men brandishing a gun then targeted the Spa in Barrow half an hour later. They all had their faces covered or were wearing balaclavas, and were of slim to medium build. No other details were available about the incident.

Police say it is too early to say whether the raids are linked, but have appealed for anyone with information to call the force on 01473 613500.
