ARMY bomb disposal experts today blew up two shells which were washed up at Orford Ness.
The ordnance, a 12-inch and a six-inch shell, were discovered on the old Ministry of Defence site around 1.50pm yesterday.
They were marked and moved away from the beach until disposal experts from Colchester dealt with them today.
The munitions were put in a pit with sandbags around them, before being blown up just after 12.50pm.
