A man has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies in Clacton-on-Sea.
Police received a call at 12.35pm on Saturday about a knife-point robbery in Best One, High Street, and then a report of another knife-point robbery in Coral, Station Road, at 5.20pm the same day.
In each incident, the offender left with a three-figure sum of cash.
No-one was injured as a result of the robberies, a spokesman for Essex Police said.
Officers arrested a 37-year-old man from Clacton-on-Sea in Pier Avenue at around 10.15pm on Saturday in connection with the robberies and he remains in custody for questioning.
