POLICE in Cambridgeshire have launched a murder investigation after a man died following an assault outside a pub.

The victim, who is yet to be identified but is said to be in his 40s, was fatally injured in the car park of the Five Bells, in Cherry Hinton, Cambridgeshire, on Friday night.

Two men are being held in custody at Parkside police station, while two women also arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail.

Det. Supt. Tom Mackinnon said: “We are continuing to appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a car driving off at high speed from the Five Bells car park on Friday night at around 7pm.”
