Man threatened with a hammer and a pair of pliers by two men who broke into his home in Jaywick

A man was threatened with a hammer and a pair of pliers early this morning by two men who broke into his home in Jaywick.
It happened in Essex Avenue just before 5.40am and police are now appealing for information after the victim was injured during the aggravated burglary.
Essex police said: “The victim, a man in his 30s, was attacked with what he has described as a hammer and a pair of pliers. The intruders then made their way out of the property leaving in the direction of Humber Avenue.”
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The first man has been described as white and aged in his 40s. He wore a blue t-shirt, jeans and white trainers.
The second man is of mixed race and also aged in his 40s. He wore black jogging bottoms and a white t-shirt.
Anyone who may have heard or witnessed this disturbance, or lives in the area and has any CCTV or dash cam footage is asked to come forward.
