Cold callers are knocking on doors of businesses in Suffolk offering knife sharpening services, trading standards officers have warned.
People have been urged not to deal with those who knock at the door and to contact Suffolk trading standards for advice if they are visited.
The county’s trading standards team Tweeted on Tuesday, September 25: “Warning to businesses located in Babergh. We’ve had reports of traders cold-calling offering knife sharpening services.
“Our advice is to never deal with doorstep traders. If you’ve been visited you can contact us for advice on 03454 040506.”
It is not the first time this year that cold callers have tried to ply their trade in the county.
In August reports came into the county council from concerned residents of Trimley St Mary, claiming that salesmen have been visiting homes unannounced to sell fish.
And earlier this month fraudsters pretending to be BT technicians were reported to have been calling Suffolk households, threatening to cut off their internet.
