A man has been given a 12 week suspended jail sentence for driving his car home from a trial which banned him from driving.
Abbey Fabrics director, Mike Getchell, 62, was banned from driving on December 13 but proceeded to drive his Mercedes C Class car from the court to his home.
Suffolk Magistrates Court heard today that Getchell was stopped by police on the A14 and that he immediately admitted he’d made a ‘stupid decision’ to take his car home.
Getchell has been banned for a further 18 months and was also told to pay £200 court costs.
