FIRE crews from across west Suffolk were called to a straw blaze in a barn late on Saturday night.
Crews from Ixworth, Bury St Edmunds, and Elmswell were called to the blaze which caused serious damage to the barn at Abbey Farm, Ixworth.
They were called out at 10.20pm and it was not until after midnight that they were able to bring the blaze under control.
The barn contained a large quantity of straw and a crew remained on the scene all night keeping an eye on the barn as the straw was allowed to burn itself out.
