A primary school in west Suffolk has opened their refurbished swimming pool.
Barrow CofE VC Primary School, working with Elite Swimming Academy (ESA), has carried out a six-month refurbishment to bring the pool up to 21st century standards.
Headteacher Helen Ashe said: “We are delighted that our pool’s future is secure. This is an important development to our provision here at Barrow.”
The work saw new insulation, floors, 52 new windows, showers, toilet and an energy-efficient air-source heat pump installed.
ESA founder Ed Williams, whose academy uses the pool outside of school hours, said: “We feel very privileged to work on this project with the school and we can’t wait to start coaching children in the new venue. We’re looking forward to offering private lessons in this beautifully refurbished pool.”
