MILDENHALL captain Barrie Evans was rewarded for his exploits over the past season as he received the club's 'rider of the year' honour at their presentation evening.
The 25-year-old Norfolk racer topped the team's averages with 9.16 and piled in a near 10-point figure at home. His consistency over the course of the campaign and top-end scoring made him a deserved winner of the award.
His devastating early season form with 10 successive double-figure totals saved the Fen Tigers from a number of defeats in the initial stages.
As expected, he reaffirmed his desire in front of supporters at the sell-out ceremony to return to West Row next year.
