Thieves have stolen a ride-on lawn mower worth £1,500.

The green John Deere lawn mower was stolen from a property in The Street, Barton Mills, between 12pm last Thursday and 1pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said: “The mower was kept in an open cart lodge style outbuilding in the back garden. It is thought that the mower was wheeled out into the street and pushed a short distance, as a red five gallon fuel can also belonging to the victim was found in the road about 50 yards away.

“The fuel can had been seen in the street on the morning of Friday, August 30, which would indicate that the mower was stolen that previous night, although it was not actually discovered to be missing until Monday.”

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact members of the Mildenhall Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
