Suffolk police were called to the scene at around 7.20am this morning.
Officers were called tot he traffic lights on the A145 London Road at the junction with Peddars Lane.
The collision took place between a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Golf.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said that an ambulance had been called to the scene but that only minor injuries had been sustained.
She added that the fiesta had been blocking the intersection for a time.
The vehicles have now been moved out of the way.
