Riders will saddle up this weekend as a popular charity bike ride returns.

With the Beccles Cycle for Life charity ride returning for its 18th year this Sunday, May 12, there is still time to take part by entering on the day.

With more than 170 riders entered so far, organisers are hopeful that "a few hundred more" may join them

People can enter on the day at £20 per head or £40 for a family group of four people (one or two adults and two or three children), or with another £5 for one extra child.

The ride starts at 10am but riders should come well before that to enter as it gets busy near to the start time.

With the ride suitable for all ages and abilities, there are five possible distances of eight, 16, 25, 41 and 50 miles - it attracts families and regular cyclists alike.

The routes are the same as last year, heading south from the Sir John Leman High School. Prizes are to be won by riders who raise the most sponsorship, and a certificate for the distance ridden is offered to all who finish.

Cycling helmets are compulsory for all who take part, and children must be accompanied.
